Muchas Gracias to all of you Contributors + SupportErs of TDT's Indiegogo Crowd-Funding Campaign (2018)

Taller de Terreno's Multi-Fuel kiln has been built!

Hola from Baja,

We at Taller de Terreno Arts + Wellness Center in Todos Santos, BCS, want to give you a brief update about the construction of our multi-fuel kiln, as promised as part of our Indiegogo Crowd-Funding campaign completed last April. Our first workshop group of 7 participants + two fabulous instructors ~ Ralph Scala of Santa Fe + Sam Harvey of Aspen ~ worked long days for 14 days straight in order to finish the kiln, once-fire it with wood + crash-cool it...not to mention make enough work to fill it! This was an impressive group of multi-talented, dedicated artists. #smoothsavages

For those of you wonderful folks who donated a "brick inscribed with your name" to our fundraiser, we will be contacting you soon to confirm the spellings of your chosen name(s). We will be covering most of these super-duty refractory bricks with an additional layer of stucco/cement mix to help preserve + insulate the kiln, so we think it will work best to inscribe the names on a steel plate instead. We will attach this commemorative plate permanently to the kiln. We hope you are okay with this idea, and we welcome your feedback.

Gracias to Krissy Ramirez for capturing this great shot of The Little Sleeping Giant

We also wanted to extend an extra special thanks to those of you that chose to sponsor a lunch for a local scholarship student. We chose the lovely Rakel "India Maya" to receive TDT's first full scholarship, and with the help of you wonderful donors, Rakel enjoyed both breakfast + lunch daily each day of the workshop ~ your treat! Muchas gracias a todos!
